Kara Baker, President and CEO, has lived in Nederland all her life and is excited to begin a company in her hometown. She is a 1995 graduate of Nederland High School, gained her B.B.A. from Lamar University, Beaumont in Human Resource Management in August 1999 and earned her Master’s in Business Administration in May 2002, also from Lamar University, Beaumont. As an alumnus, Kara remains active in the College of Business, collaborating with two Lamar University professors on the publication of two papers in well-known peer reviewed journals. Kara is a Life Loyal member of Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity and a member of the Spindletop Alumni Chapter of AKPsi. Kara’s passion however, aside from the success of Juxtapose, is seen in her volunteerism for the American Cancer Society’s signature fundraiser, Relay For Life. In May 2002, Kara was awarded the Income Development Award from the South Jefferson County’s unit of the American Cancer Society for her work as a Team Captain and Luminaria Chairman in the Relay For Life. Since then, Kara has served three terms as a Co-Chairman for the Mid and South Jefferson County’s Relay for Life event and is currently honored to be a part of the Region 7 Relay For Life Council. Kara is married to Juxtapose co-founder Paul Baker and has two children, Kristen Faye, born on July 26, 2002 and Blaine Martin, born on September 24, 2003. In addition to her duties as President and CEO of Juxtapose and a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and a full time mom, Kara is a full time instructor at Lamar Institute of Technology, Beaumont. In July 2002, Kara was awarded Port Arthur New’s Working Woman of the Week and in 2003 was nominated for the Nederland Chamber of Commerce Mother of the Year Award.
Bryant H. Hester, Vice President, was born in Andrews, Texas and lived in Denver City, Texas until he joined the United States Marine Corps in 1997. Bryant attended Denver City High School where he graduated with Honors in the top 5% of his class. In the Marine Corps, he quickly rose to the rank of Lance Corporal for outstanding achievement while at Computer Science School in Quantico, Virginia. Bryant completed this formal training as the Honor Graduate of Class 8-98, and went on to receive many awards based on achievement and merit. His position as a Computer Systems Specialist while serving in the Marine Corps is the solid foundation for computer skills and knowledge (also strict discipline) required for a successful start-up company. Bryant was honorably discharged in October 2001 at the rank of Corporal. Since moving to Nederland to serve as the Vice President and Lead Analyst for Juxtapose, Bryant has become active in the Young Men’s Business League, the Southeast Texas Republican Liberty Caucus, the Jefferson County Republican Party and volunteers annually to speak to teens about his career at the Rotary Club of Nederland’s Career Day. He is also the proud father of Alia Sheri, born February 5, 2008.
Paul M. Baker, Systems Analyst, was born in Nacogdoches, Texas and has lived all over Texas until he went to Lamar University – Beaumont in 1994. Paul graduated from Lamar University in 1999 with a BBA in Management Information Systems and a BS in Computer Science. Having been in the computer support industry since 1996, Paul was the driving force behind the creation of Juxtapose. Working part time for Juxtapose starting in February of 2002 and full time in February of 2003, Paul has dramatically increased the quality and quantity of services offered. With Paul’s area of expertise, Juxtapose has expanded its services to include Accounting Information Systems Support with a specialty in QuickBooks and MAS 90/200. Paul served on the Board of Directors for the Nederland Economic Development Corporation for five years, is a co-founder of the Spindletop Alumni Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi and has served as the advisor for the Kappa Tau chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi – Professional Business Fraternity at Lamar University. Paul is also active in the Mid and South Jefferson County Relay For Life, The Rotary Club of Nederland where he currently serves as the Treasurer and has serviced as Director of Community Service, the YMBL where he is a Life Member, and a member of the LSET (Leadership SouthEast Texas) class of 2005. In June 2004, Paul was selected as the Rotary Club of Nederland’s Entrepreneur of the Year. Paul is also the managing contributor for the Juxtapose Technology blog – The Jux (www.thejux.com).

George W. Walton, IT Support Specialist, was born in Sulphur, Louisiana and lived in Lake Charles, Louisiana for 15 years. George graduated from Sulphur High School in 1995 and went on to study Computer Science/Mathematics at McNeese State University. He began working for himself in 2001 building his client base in support of his music career. George is a very persistent, business minded person who is creative and enjoys researching different things. George has also worked for various IT and retail companies for the past several years gaining knowledge and skills to help him support all areas of the computer industry. Since joining the Juxtapose family he has also started to develop his website skills. He is the manager of the Jennings office of Juxtapose, handling the day to day operations of our second location. George is married to Erin and has a son Isaac.
